Friday. Snow. Spring Equinox. Total Solar Eclipse. New Super Moon. Zoroastrian New Year. It's all happening today.
The universe is so perfect, isn't it? The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon which means today (during the eclipse) the moon was 400 times closer to the earth and it appeared to us as big as the sun, bringing total darkness for a few minutes.
It's a good lesson if we think about those things in our lives that seem so big, difficult or overwhelming, and compare them to things that seem smaller but can overshadow the big ones -like the moon covering the sun. It can be anything, a happy song, a strangers' smile, someone's hug - anything that turns a blue day into a happy one and brings us back to balance. The opposite is also true, we're surrounded by so much love, abundance and beauty but we let the small things get on the way all the time - why is that?
The vernal equinox also calls for balance, it is the day when we have an 'equal night', meaning we have the same amount of daylight as we do of darkness (at least in theory.) It's the start of spring, the most fertile time. A time of rebirth and sunshine (yay!).
Embracing the darkness of the new moon and today's obscured sun can be a powerful way of reflecting. Knowing that in every moment we are exactly who we choose to be. Every new breath is a new opportunity full of infinite possibilities.
